Gus Newman

Gus crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 after a long battle with kidney disease. He was the easy-going Dachshund of Darrin and Rhonda Newman of Wells Tannery, and the fur brother to Lewy, who preceded him in passing.

Gus enjoyed going for rides in the truck on the State Game Lands, several trips to Maine for vacation, soaking up the heat by the wood stove in the winter, tanning his belly in the warm summer sun in the back yard, and having his nightly pup cup of Hershey’s Ice Cream. Since Lewy’s passing in 2020, he accompanied his mom every day to work at the office of Weavers Sanitation in Breezewood where he enjoyed greeting customers, salesmen, and his daily treats from the company drivers. He was a loyal companion and will forever be loved and missed.
